Mukesh attended Hill Grange High School on Pedar Road in Mumbai.  His brother Anil and his colleague Anand Jain were also his classmates there.  He holds a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (UDCT).  Mukesh later completed his MBA at Stanford University.     

 Mukesh wedded Nita Ambani in 1975. They have two children and one little girl. The oldest child Ananta Ambani and the most youthful child Akash Ambani are the top of the essential division of Reliance Geo Infocomm.
